Amit Anil Chandra Shah

Shri Amit Shah was born in 1964 in Mumbai, in Gujarati family of Mrs. Kusumben and Mr. Anilchandra Shah. Till the age of sixteen he stayed in his ancestral village of Mansa in Gujarat and did his schooling. After completing school, his family moved to Ahmadabad. Amit Shah since childhood was fascinated & inspired by the biographies of great nationalists, owing to this inspiration, he too dreamed of serving the Motherland and contributing to the progress of the nation. At the age of 14 he joined RSS from thereon the journey of serving people & motherland has continued to scale heights.. His love for the nation can be seen in his hard work & dedication that he has put throughout his journey from serving the state of Gujarat, national political arena & as the Minister of the country. Shri Shah has a keen interest in sports especially cricket.

AMIT SHAH AS POLITICIAN OF STATE

1982:

It was evidence of the efficacy and activism of Mr. Amit Shah that in 1982 he was made the Joint Secretary of the Gujarat unit of Akhil Bharatiy Vidyarthi Parishad.

1987:

In 1987, he joined Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and started his political career. Thereon, successfully proving his metal & rising in hierarchy to hold varied positions from ward secretary to becoming the vice-president & general secretary.

1989:

Amit Shah was made the secretary of the BJP Ahmedabad city in 1989. He completed his role successfully in coordinating and managing BJP campaign during Ram Janam Bhoomi movement and Ekta Yatra. He was also made the Chief Campaigner and Election Coordinator, and he led to victory the campaign of Shri. Lal Krishna Advani from Gandhinagar

1997:

Amit Shah contested Assembly Elections from Sarkhej Constituency in Ahmedabad, Gujarat & won by a massive margin from his competitors. He won the first election by a margin of 24,689 votes that rose more than 5 times to 132,477 votes in the next election. He won his third and fourth term with record margins 288,327 (approx 12 times) and 232,823 votes respectively.

1998:

Due to the organizational efficiency of Shri Amit Shah, he was appointed the President of the Gujarat unit of Bharatiya Janta Party in the year 1998.

1999:

Just after one year, Shri Amit Shah was entrusted with the responsibility of Vice-President of the Gujarat unit of Bharatiya Janta Party in 1999.

2002:

Shri Amit Shah became the minister in Gujarat government for the first time in 2002. His efficiency in the political arena had earned them the responsibility of various important portfolios such as Home, Transport, Prohibition, Parliamentary Affairs, Law, and Excise.

Magnificent Revival of Co.Opp Banks by Amit Shah

In the co-operative sector he served as Chairman of the Ahmedabad Dist. Co.opp. Bank, which is the lead bank of 367 district Co.Opp. Banks of India. This 36 crore loss-making bank was turned into profit making bank of 27 crores ensuring that shareholders get some dividend on their investment. Shri Shah played essential role in preparing revival package of Rs 400 crore for the then dysfunctional Madhavpura Mercantile Co-Op bank. The amount so received was distributed to the small depositors. He also held Directorial positions at The Gujarat State Urban Co.Op. Bank Federation ltd, National Federation of Urban co-opp. Banks & Credit Society Delhi, Ahmedabad Central Consumers Co.Op. Federation ltd, Gujarat State Co-Op. Marketing Federation ltd.

In the fields of sports he has served presidential roles at Gujarat Cricket Association, Gujarat State Chess Association (23 April 2006 - 18 April 2010). He has been a member of Finance Committee of Board of Cricket Control in India (From 24 Sept 2009), Vice President for Gujarat Cricket Association (15 Sept 2009 - 13 June 2014), Executive member at the Central Board of Cricket, Ahmedabad & also the member of Executive and Working Committee of Board of Cricket Control in India.

After winning the 2002 state elections, he became the youngest minister in the Modi-led Gujarat government, and was given multiple portfolios. At one time, he held 12 portfolios — home, law and justice, prison, border security, civil defence, excise, transport, prohibition, home guards, gram rakshak dal, police housing, and legislative and parliamentary affairs.

AMIT SHAH IN THE NATIONAL POLITICAL ARENA:

1997:

Amit Shah ji was appointed National Treasurer of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in 1997.

2001:

In 2001, he was appointed as the National Coordinator of the Cooperative Wing of Bharatiya Janta Party. During his tenure he was titled as the Grandfather of the Cooperative Movement for his exemplary work.

2013:

In 2013 the central leadership of BJP raised Amit shah to the post of National General Secretary of the party before 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Soon after becoming National General Secretary of the party, he was also given the charge of Uttar Pradesh which accounts for 80 Lok Sabha seats.

2014:

At an early age of 49 years, Amit Shah became the youngest National President of Bhartiya Janta Party in 2014.

2016:

On January 24, 2016, Shri Amit Shah was re-elected as BJP National President.

2017:

Amit Shah became the Member of the Upper House of Parliament i.e Rajya Sabha.

2019

Shah took oath as Cabinet Minister on 30 May 2019 and took office as Minister of Home Affairs on 1 June 2019.

Article 370

Shah moved a resolution to scrap Article 370 in the Rajya Sabha[40] and divide the state of Jammu and Kashmir into two, with Jammu and Kashmir serving as one of the union territories, and Ladakh serving as a separate union territory.

CAA

In December 2019, he introduced the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, which grants Indian citizenship to religiously persecuted minority communities who migrated to the country before 2015 from the Muslim-majority countries of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Peace Agreement Bodo Movement

Union Home Minister Amit Shah signed a historic agreement between Government of India, Government of Assam and Bodo representatives to end the 50-year old Bodo crisis, in New Delhi. The peace accord was signed with all four factions of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland and two other influential regional outfits in an agreement aimed at creating political and economic stability in the Bodo-dominated regions of Assam by bringing an end to a decades-old armed movement for a separate state. The deal was signed in the presence of home minister Amit Shah ,Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the home ministry’s joint secretary, Satyendra Garg, and the top leadership of all four factions of the NDFB and the ABSU, among others, were present.

2021

In 2021 Amit shah assumed the charge as Minister of Cooperation. This Ministry was created in July 2021 to oversee the work of cooperative societies and agriculture credit societies. It is one of the priorities of the present government and is under Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Incredible Roles, Responsibilities & Schemes managed by Shri Amit Shah:

As a legislator, Shri Shah served as the Chairman of Public Undertakings Committee of the Gujarat State Assembly. He Worked for two terms as Minister of State for Home, Police Housing, Border Security, Civil Defense, Home Guards, Gram Rakshak Dal, Prison, Prohibition, Excise, Transport in the Ministry of Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

In 2004, the UPA-led central government decided to repeal the Prevention of Terror Acts (POTA) law, but Amit Shah managed to get the Gujarat Control of Organised Crime (GCOC) Bill passed in the state assembly. Amit Shah also played a key role in the passing of the Gujarat Freedom of Religion Act which would make religious conversions difficult. The bill faced a lot of opposition but Shah defended it successfully.

The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah launched the 'Ayushman CAPF' scheme for personnel and dependents of the Central Armed Police Forces on 23rd Jan 2021 on the on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Shri Amit Shah presented Ayushman CAPF beneficiary e-health cards to some officers and personnel of the CAPFs. The members can avail cashless treatment at 24,000 enlisted hospitals.

Union Home & Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah launched web portal for registration of units under 'New Central Sector Scheme' for Industrial Development of Jammu and Kashmir through video conferencing. Under this scheme an investment of more than Rs 50,000 crore will come in Jammu and Kashmir and there will be all-round development of Jammu and Kashmir.
Amit Shah ji inaugurated various schemes of Sumul dairy in Surat & also laid it’s foundation stone in Surat, Gujarat.

Master Strategist & Leader

Shri Shah has served as National General secretary and UP Incharge. Under Amit Shah's supervision, BJP did exceptionally well in Uttar Pradesh registering victory by occupying 73 out of 80 parliamentary seats in the state. The party high command praised him for his strategic and organisational abilities.

Shri Amit Shah treated the concern of Naxalism in the country & held a high level meeting with the the chief ministers and representatives of 9 states - Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Telangana, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala to neutralize the sources of income of Left-Wing Extremists in the regions and make way for development of the regions in all aspects & that of the country eventually.

Shri Amit Shah announced selection of five villages in his Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency as part of the 'Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana'. Under SAGY, each Member of Parliament adopts a Gram Panchayat and guides its holistic progress giving importance for social development at uniformity with infrastructure. The 'Adarsh Grams' are to become schools of local development and governance, inspiring other Gram Panchayats.

The CHANAKYA of Modern Politics:

Known as 'Chanakya' of modern Indian politics, Shri Shah, since 1989, fought 29 elections, including various local body polls, and not lost any to this day. This speaks of his successful stratagies, Visionary leadership & acceptance by people. BJP currently holds the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Amit Shah ji managed to deliver 71 out of 80 seats in a state of UP in 2014 due to his master strategies. Under Shah's leadership, the BJP achieved success in Legislative Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand and Assam from 2014 to 2016.
